Enabling wireless without a wifi switch

I was having issues with my internet and my computer would not connect to the hard line that was plugged and would only try wifi. I have Windows 7 installed on here and I went to the control panel then to network and on the left clicked on adapter but that took me to a blank page with nothing on it at all.
